Biologist and founder of HABIT Research worked with the Wildlife Inst. of India collaring tigers in March 2006. These collars were custom designed for the tracking requirements of the Institute, using composite kevlar, and using HABIT's latest combo VHF GPS transmitter. This transmitter has an onboard 13,000 event data logger, and the ability to remotely transmit GPS data via the VHF signal from up to 2 km's away in dense jungle conditions. Data is transmitted to the HABIT Research HR2600 VHF receiver. GPS data from the HR2600 is then downloaded to a computer and viewable with GIS software.
